SIMPLICITY

This is my weakness: leaf litter mulch. No edging. Moss & lichens. Evergreen flowering shrubs. Petals on the ground. Patches of bare earth. Bench & bush. Low meadow leading to wildwood. Fragrance. Sound of wind thru leaves. Birds. Beauty.

My question is this? Can I do this near the house? We have lots of trees, thereby blessing us w/lots of leaves. God doesn't rake them up out of a forest. . .do I need to? To keep snakes away from the house? I see using this away from structures. . . just wondering if anyone has done this close-in?

In a word: chocolate. Botanically speaking: scented gardens with strategic places to sit and sniff.

Love that Plant,(tree)! What is it? I love leaf litter mulch also, but with yard men, it gets removed weekly along with my paid for mulch, need to have a talk with them again.:-(

I have a thing for vines. Climbing over everything!
Preferably flowering, but any kind will do.
